Luminaries (2024) shows animated cycles of the moon and the sun on film. With DIY analog film techniques their beginning, their being, their disintegration is projected. In Luminaries the impermanence of the sun and the moon travels through the tactile space of film. Creation myths, in which the sun and the moon often play a major part, help us to get a grip on matters beyond our comprehension. Where the unknown begins, symbolism enters.
